The population of Tanoliu is around 275 people.
Tanoliu (pronounced Tan-o-lee-oo) is a small village, located on the main island of Efate, near the Port of Havannah, a 45 minute drive over mountains from the capital Port Vila.
Tanoliu is one of the smallest Villages in Vanuatu.
There are two basic schools situated in the village, 1 Primary school and 1 Secondary school.
Tanoliu's political system is run by Chiefs. Chiefs run and take care of the village. The Chiefs' responsibilities also involve controlling the money of Tanoliu, dealing with disputes and performing ceremonies, like marriages and funerals. Tanoliu has 4 Chiefs, but the number varies depending on the size of the village. They are hereditary and are always male.
